Primary Care
The staff at Med Stop One is very courteous and flexible with my busy schedule. My primary care provider is great! She is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to her patients which is why I would highly recommend this doctors’ office to anyone needing quality care.
Family Practice
I was born in San Juan, PR where I attended UPR. While there I received an associates degree in emergency medicine and a bachelors in Chemistry and Biology.Â Â I joined the US military in 1980 and retired from US Navy in 2004.Â I received a naval scholarship to attend medical school in Missouri.Â I graduated top of my class in 1993. I did my residency in family medicine with an Emergency medicine track at LSU in Louisiana.Â Â Once I finished I practiced both family medicine and emergency medicine in rural WV and Arkansas for 14 years before moving back to Missouri. I have worked as an ER physician throughout the bootheel of MO including Sikeston, Poplar Bluff, and Perryville while also remaining an active member of med stop family as medical director.Â Â I reside here in Cape Girardeau with my Wife, Tamara, 6 children and my mother.Â Â I am determined to provide the very best medical attention and care to all of my patients from newborn to geriatrics.Â It is an honor to serve you as your doctor and friend in this community.
Emergency Care
MedStop One accepts most all insurances, Missouri & Illinois Medicaid, Medicare and all Medicare Supplements. MedStop One is also a provider for the new Affordable Care Act (Obama Care).Â We’re a Veterans Affairs (VA) Community Care Partner, meaning we can see any VA eligible veterans for urgent care.Â We are also a great option for those without insurance, as we’re an independent, hometown practice, which means we understand financial constraints and challenges, and offer quality care and ancillary services (labs, ekg’s, simple procedures, etc.) at affordable prices.

Lung Cancer
I would like to take the time to thank Laura Murphy, Brandy, Gevonne & Heather. They have been such a wonderful support helping me get through this past year. In June of 2014 I was diagnosed with stage 1 lung cancer & 12 benign large nodules on my thyroid gland that were going to cause problems possibly in the near future. If Laura had not been thinking about the FUTURE, wanting my base line breathing for future reference IF needed, I would be your typical stage 4 finding! Not only do I give my God I love, but I also give Laura Murphy the credit in all of this.
