General Info

The Department of Industrial Relations, governed by State of California, offers assistance with the improvement of working conditions for California's wage earners. The department operates a division that monitors the administration of workers' compensation claims and provides administrative and judicial services for resolving disputes related to compensation benefits. Its division of labor statistics and research collects, compiles and presents accurate and timely information concerning the conditions of labor in the state. The Department of Industrial Relations California State Mediation & Conciliation Service program conducts elections for the certification and decertification of labor organizations. In addition, the department adjudicates wage claims and investigates discrimination and public works complaints.
