My passion and inspiration for becoming a primary care Nurse Practitioner began during my 15 years as a registered nurse. I want to prevent people from becoming hospitalized by helping patients reach their optimal health through early intervention and preventative measures.

And so, I earned my Master’s degree of Medical Science at Midwestern University in Illinois in 2008. Once I graduated I knew I wanted to practice Family Medicine. I am a firm believer in the Patient-Centered Medical Home principles. This means the patients’ interests are placed first and communication between the patient, the primary provider and any specialists (“medical neighbors”) is always open. I encourage patients to share most anything with me so that I can provide better health care. Getting to know my patients and their families is one of the best perks of working in family medicine.

I perform surgical procedures including mole biopsies and toenail removal, as well as joint injections and trigger point injections. Before making the decision to pursue medicine, I worked in inpatient mental health for 4 years. I was blessed to have mentors in the hospital providing the encouragement I needed to further my education and personal development. During this time, a severe illness of my grandfather greatly impacted me and this also gave me direction to choose a career in medicine.
