Since it s founding in 1911, the company has invested heavily in the development of specialized braiding machines to serve the rapidly growing needs of the wire and cable industry. In 1994, Wardwell Braiding Machine acquired Schnellflechter Berlin, a German braiding machine producer with a reputation for engineering excellence and product quality. In 2001 the company further expanded its braiding machinery capabilities with the acquisition of the German company Spirka. Also in 2001, Wardwell Italy was opened to extend the company s product range of automatic bobbin winders and payoff systems. Wardwell Braiding Machine applications include coaxial and shielded cables, cable television, aerospace applications, computer networking, satellite application products and fishing lines. The company is headquartered in Central Falls, R.I.
