X-rays
Dental x-rays help to detect problems in the early stages — saving you time, money, and unnecessary discomfort. We use digital x-rays instead of conventional x-ray film because they are healthier for you, better for the environment and more convenient for both you and the doctor. Digital x-rays do not use film that require developing with the caustic and environmentally damaging solutions that more conventional x-rays require. Digital x-rays require about 1/3 of the radiation of film x-rays and the image is produced instantly on the computer screen where they can be enlarged and enhanced to see all the details. With digital images, the doctor can review them with you and help you to understand better what he sees in them.
Oral Cancer Screening
Nobody wants to hear that they may have oral cancer. Although it can be fatal, it is easier to treat the earlier it is caught. For this reason, we are proud to assist our patients with an oral cancer screening. We want to help our patients survive this often fatal disease.

Teeth Cleaning
Dr. Bloom performs a 3-part professional dental cleaning. His instructions for your daily home care are unique and are possibly the MOST VALUABLE lesson for you to learn. It is by incorporating his unique methods into your daily hygiene routine and by returning on a regular basis for confirmation of your successes (2-3 times/year) that you can PREVENT the most common dental problems from recurring.
Fluoride Treatment
Dental Sealants
When we apply a dental sealant, we paint a plastic coating on top of your teeth. This makes your teeth smooth getting rid of the rough edges, depressions, and grooves that are commonly found on teeth. It is essentially a protective coating against tooth decay and cavities.

Fillings
Composites made of resin and porcelain particles are used to restore your tooth’s function, form, and aesthetics. Composites are an improvement over silver amalgam because they not only look better, but they form a bond with the tooth structure. (This is in comparison to silver amalgam fillings which do no adhere to tooth structure.). Composites can be applied in 1 visit.
Resin Composite
Inlays and Onlays are restorative options for the back teeth. Inlays and Onlays can be made of metal, porcelain or hardened composite resin, all of which are significantly stronger than ordinary fillings. Impressions are made of the prepared teeth and these restorations are fabricated in the laboratory. 2-3 weeks later, these pieces are bonded into the damaged area of the tooth with very strong cement. A temporary restoration protects your tooth between the two visits.

Crowns

Dr. Bloom will prepare, fit and place your dental bridge, often in 2 just appointments. During the first appointment, your teeth will be prepared and an impression will be taken for the lab. When the bridge is ready, Dr. Bloom will make sure it fits properly and then bond it to your teeth.
Dental Bonding

Root Canal Treatment

Tooth Extractions
Wisdom tooth extractions are not always necessary, but when they are, we are generally able to do the procedure ourselves without referring you to a specialist. The wisdom teeth are also known as ‘third molars’. They are the last tooth in the arch and are the last to appear. Typically they emerge between ages 17 and 34 years. The most common reason for their removal is decay, ie. when people don’t or can’t reach far enough back to brush them clean, they usually decay. In a way, the wisdom teeth are the only ‘expendible’ adult teeth in that their loss does not create a need to replace them. Some people don’t even have them! Yet other people don’t get them because they are “stuck” or “impacted”. There are several reasons to consider removing impacted wisdom teeth and there are several reasons to leave them alone… through x-rays and examination, Dr. Bloom can discuss your options and the pros and cons of each.

Orthodontics
During your appointment, Dr. Bloom will take your complete dental history and then conduct a thorough exam including digital x-rays to see if your symptoms are a result of TMJ. If so, he will develop a treatment plan to relieve stress on the joints, alleviate muscle spasms, and reposition the jaw. These procedures may include physical therapy, re-positioning of your teeth through orthodontics and/or an appliance to be worn in the mouth to help realign the jaw.
