Teeth Cleaning
She is the main person that makes sure all the great work we dentist do holds up over time. If something is going wrong we count on her to find it before you the patient is aware of a problem. Our hygienist see’s patients at regular intervals for professional teeth cleanings known as prophys, she see’s patient that are in the maintenance phase of periodontal therapy and she makes sure the dentist are doing the exams needed when needed.
Dental Sealants
Many people have deep pits and grooves in their teeth where bacteria and food particles can hide and cause decay. Children with poor brushing habits may also develop decay on hard-to-reach molars. For situations like these, dental sealants offer a means of protecting molar and premolar chewing surfaces from decay. Recognized by the American Dental Association as a key means of cavity prevention, dental sealants are simply a thin plastic film that can be applied teeth.

Fillings
Resin Composite
Harmful bacteria on the tooth can lead to decay. Your dentist can remove the decayed portion of the tooth and fill the area. Fillings can also be used to repair cracked or broken teeth and teeth that have been worn down. Tooth colored fillings are made out of porcelain or composite resin, which is undetectable and offers an aesthetically pleasing solution for a decayed tooth. This protects the tooth from infection and further decay.
Veneers
Do your front teeth detract from your appearance? If all you notice when you smile are chips, stains, gaps, or other flaws, we have a solution. Our dentists apply custom-made porcelain veneers to dramatically improve smiles in as few as three visits to our Chicago office.
Crowns
Inlays and onlays are dental restorations that are used as an alternative to full coverage dental crowns. These dental restorations offer a well-fitting, stronger, longer-lasting repair solution to tooth decay. Inlays and onlays can also be used in place of dental fillings. While dental fillings are molded into place within the mouth during a single dental visit, inlays and onlays are fabricated in a dental lab before being fitted and bonded to the damaged tooth.
Bridges
A dental bridge is used to replace a missing tooth or teeth. A tooth or teeth neighboring the missing tooth or teeth may be crowned, and used as anchoring teeth to support the replacement tooth. It is important to replace missing teeth to avoid shifting of surrounding teeth, which may lead to misaligned bite, TMJ and other problems.
Dental Bonding
If you have a chipped, slightly misaligned, or otherwise imperfect tooth that needs cosmetic restoration, we may suggest one-appointment bonding. The dentist can apply liquid composite resin, shaded to blend with your tooth’s color, to rebuild a pleasing shape to your tooth. After hardening the resin with a curing light, he will artistically sculpt and polish the restoration. In just one visit, you can enjoy a beautiful new smile! Cosmetic bonding can be a viable, affordable alternative to porcelain veneers, but it lasts only 5 to 10 years with proper care. Bonding will not discolor as your natural tooth enamel will, so touch-up teeth whitening may be required to keep your natural teeth the same shade as the bonded area.

Deep Cleaning
During your checkup and hygiene visit, we’ll examine your smile for signs of gum disease. Oral Surgeon, Dr. Cornell McCullom’s clinical skills are admired by many of his patients and colleagues. His gentle methodical technique for the removal of teeth make the experience surprisingly tolerable for most. Patients often remark that having their tooth removed was more pleasant than anticipated. Even the hard to treat phobic patients are often proud of their behavior under the care of Dr. McCullom. For an oral surgeon, the removal of teeth is the foundation of their practice and they tend to be quite good at it. It’s not a surprise that past patients self refer when its time for another tooth extraction. Once you have had the expert care of Dr. McCullom, you know how its supposed to be done.
Bone Grafting
Using local anesthesia, your dentist will make tiny, precisely placed incisions in your gums and insert bone grafting material. This temporarily decreases the bone’s mineral content and allows teeth to quickly move into their desired positions using braces or Wilckodontics oral appliances. The grafting material then combines with your bone and hardens to hold teeth in place. Lips are supported as well to eliminate that shrunken or curled in look than can occur as you age.

Orthodontics
