I called Mcmillan Tree Service after a tree fell on my house during a recent storm. Scott showed up in the middle of the night and assessed the situation promptly and professionally. He not only removed the tree, but he put a tarp over the damage minimizing additional costs from water intrusion. Scott Mcmillan is a true professional putting customer service first and foremost.

We had Scott McMillan & his crew take down numerous trees on our property back in early December. The operator left a tree lodged up against another. My husband contacted Scott McMillan re: this issue & thought it would be resolved in a pleasant, professional matter...but the owner has shown how inconsiderate, incompetent, unprofessional etc he is towards clients. Here it is February, my husbands calls which were few & far between went unanswered, straight to voice mail. Of course he's not registered with the BBB..that would include a commitment to make a good faith effort to resolve any consumer complaints...a cut above the rest? Nope definitely NOT! . He expects my husband, a senior citizen w/ a bum knee to take care of it on his own, unbelievable.. not a nice person..
It is unfortunate that Valerie G, from Forest Ranch and her husband (Bill) feel that our company and crew provided poor service. We always strive to provide the best service possible within the scope of work outlined in the agreements with our customers. It never ceases to amaze me how in these negative reviews many of the facts are left out which paints a picture of how horrible and/or unfair a contractor is to the customer. In this case, I happen to be the chosen contractor; therefore I thought it was important to present a few more of the facts. Our company was hired to take down numerous trees on their property back in early December 2015. We were hired to only put the trees on the ground, which is exactly what we did. The customer was to take care of the brush and log clean up. My crew and I ended up cleaning up some of the brush as it made our job a bit easier, as well as made the clean up for Bill a bit easier. There was no additional charge; I threw it in as a courtesy. As a side note, we had agreed in advance on a certain group of trees that we would be removing and when we arrived on the jobsite, her husband came to me and said he had decided he no longer wanted to remove a couple of the smaller trees, but that he wanted a single, much larger tree removed. I wasn’t pleased about the last minute change which involved more work than originally agreed upon, but I went ahead and agreed to make the change at no additional charge. That is just my way of being unpleasant and inconsiderate. When the job was completed, and before we left the jobsite, her husband reviewed the jobsite expressed how pleased he was with the work. At no time was there any mention of a problem of where the logs were left as he was going to take care of getting them cut up and out of the way. So my crew and I left under the impression that all was well. Several days later, I received a phone call from Bill and he said that he didn’t have a saw big enough to cut up the logs and he wanted me to return to their property to cut up and move the logs. I told him I would be more than happy to return and take care of the logs, but that there would be a charge for the service. He was appalled and upset and said that our company should provide the additional service as part of the original agreement. I told him that based on our original agreement, that we were not obligated to return and perform additional work for no additional cost. While I can appreciate that the logs may have created a safety hazard for visitors, it was not intentional on the part of me or my crew; Bill was to take care of that part of the clean-up. As mentioned in the review, Bill continued to try to contact me to convince me to return and perform additional work for no fee. He left two, maybe three very unpleasant and demanding voice messages on my cell phone and office phone. We eventually connected via cell phone; he became belligerent and made threats, so I did indeed hang up on him. I may have been able to find a better way to handle the phone call, but I didn’t feel that I should have to continue to listen to his threats. The review also mentions a commitment to make a good faith effort to resolve customer complaints (I don’t need to become a member of the BBB to compel me to participate in a professional dialogue with my customers, even when they are upset), well in this case the only way this was going to be resolved to their satisfaction was to give in to their bullying and their demands and to do the work at no additional charge. As a business owner, that was not a reasonable request or resolution.

I highly recommend McMillan Tree Service.
Scott and crew were very skilled and efficient removing two huge ash trees in my front yard.
The job was complicated with a power line and tight spaces. They did excellent work and left the place very clean! Kristen L.

Scott's crew did such a wonderful job! We had a tree that was covered in ivy, and situated in the center of a fountain. They were able to take down the tree with no damage to our garden, or fountain. The crew was timely, courteous, friendly, skilled and very clean. We highly recommend Scott and his business!

If Scott the Arborist says he will perform a particular service, you can count on it being take of care as a part of the contracted service. They replaced a skylight on my home that was damaged by his workers, and while the stump grinder accidentally severed a sprinkler line, Scott came back after the initial tree removal service and used his stump grinder to cut a very neat trench just a few inches wide that enabled me to place a 3/4" pvc pipe in the ground for a new water line. I did not have to dig a trench by hand and I therefore avoided having to dig through many tree roots.
I recommend McMillan Tree Service without reservation. They are dependable and skilled in their work, make good on repairs and do a good job of yard clean-up at completion.
