Overall
I've known Country Kitchen fro...

I've known Country Kitchen from before it built its new restaurant, where it is now. You can make yourself very comfortable and have a pleasant dining experience because of it's design and layout. I also speak from 37 years trucking all over the USA and dining in over 30,000 restaurants. Country Kitchen makes from scratch a lot of their Buffet. Meats and Veggies change daily. Meatloaf and macaroni and cheese were especially good today. Everything on the Salad Bar was typical and completely chopped. No do-it-yourself here. Salad dressings are store-bought, all of which I long ago rejected because of Soybean Oil which I fear is from GMO beans. I don't know how sensitive they are to how carefully we have to shop for groceries today, considering the antics of Chem/Ag Farming. They did not have any Olive Oil to go with Vinegar, so my salad dressing was just vinegar and a bit of sugar. I would like to see a Policy of Organic groceries standard as much as possible. Yes, I know prices may have to be raised, but when they can tell us they've found the very best groceries available, because they won't serve less, no one should have much gripe. The Buffet Area is separated from the Menu Area by the Kitchen in the middle. Staff was Friendly and Alert to our Dining needs. Prices are good, Food is good and servings ample. If you leave hungry, it's your fault.

I'd like to respond to the complaint of all the greasy food. The Complainer probably is not a cook and certainly doesn't understand nourishment and nutrition. FAT-FREE IS NOT GOOD!!! Certain vitamins and minerals need fat in order to facilitate their absorption. Some foods cook better in select oils and shortenings. If it was the Buffet where your complaints originated, there were other choices available. If from the Menu, maybe a question to your waitress could have steered you to a different selection. I really don't think anything was so greasy and oily that you needed a roll of Bounty Towels to sop it dry.
