During his residency, Dr. Segall served as chief resident in his final year of the program. Over his three years in training, he completed his research thesis, where he assessed changes to bony structures over time in patients who received dental implant treatment. Dr. Segall was selected to give an oral presentation at the International Association of Dental Research Conference to present his findings.

Dr. Cassinelli also is involved with several other roles in addition to his private practice. He currently serves as Southwest Ohio Director for the Ohio Association of Orthodontists. He and his partner, Dr. Shanker, also present continuing education lectures to general dentists to inform them of relevant topics in orthodontics. This enables general dental practitioners to screen more effectively for orthodontic problems in their patients. Dr. Cassinelli also has a faculty appointment with the UC Department of Surgery and collaborates with the oral surgeons (Staff and residents) to coordinate care and management of complex patients needing Orthognathic Surgery as part of their comprehensive orthodontic care in a teaching environment.
Maxillofacial Surgery
Dr. Shiv Shanker is a board-certified specialist with many years of experience as an orthodontist. He attained the status of Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics in 2003. Dr. Shanker maintains a one-day-a-week affiliation with the Ohio State University College of Dentistry as co-director of the Dentofacial Deformity Program in the graduate orthodontic and oral and maxillofacial surgery programs.

After Toledo, Dr. Baker continued her education at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, where she graduated magna cum laude with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. To further her foundation in dentistry, she completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. From there, she practiced as a general dentist in San Antonio, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, while her husband was serving in the United States Air Force.
