STAY AWAY!!! As a first time homebuyers, my wife and I put our confidence in Red Apple Realty to guide us through the purchase of a vacation home with a goal for future permanent residency. After deciding on our choice, we had an inspection (Red Apple suggestion of contractor) and received an excellent review-only a few minor repairs needed. The previous owners had the septic tank cleaned as a condition of the purchase. After we moved in, we began to notice all the defects in the house which were not reported in the inspection as well as “problems” the broker (he himself a home builder), should have mentioned. Over the 5 years since the purchase, we have spent over $25,000 upgrading the house. Recently, we put our house on the market and have prospective buyers who just had the house inspected coincidentally by our original contractor who found numerous defects which should have been reported when we purchased the house and in violation of a certificate of occupancy which should never have been given. To boot, the septic tank was also in violation-too small and not properly installed. We strongly advise to keep away from an unscrupulous realtor.
