Best customer service I’ve ever had. Everyone is so nice and they all do a great job grooming ! They have the best employees and I will never go anywhere else!

What a great staff! Check out Stacy's creative grooming techniques, they are amazing!! The boarding area is so bright and homey, I wouldn't mind spending the night there myself ❤️����❤️

After reading through all of the other reviews, I have to say I agree about the service I get at the Barking Lot in the town square. I am a "snow bird" and live part of the year in Helen. I tried several of the local shops, and they were ok, but not what I hoped for. So someone I knew referred me to her groomer over in Cleveland - she promised it would be worth the extra drive time. THAT is when I found Stacy - YEARS ago at a different shop in Cleveland. I was not only pleased with her services, but I always knew my dogs were well taken care. A couple of years ago I got panicky because I called that shop and found that Stacy was no longer there. In a way, I had mixed feelings because she was working in a pet supply that (except for her area) was FILTHY. I hated walking thru there each time i went... but without Stacy there, what was I going to do?



I called the woman, Hannah, that original referred me to Stacy and she informed me that she had moved just a short distance from the old place and had a lovely, immaculate new shop - and SHE was the owner... I was so excited.



so I made my appointment - and have been taking my dogs there ever since. I am so relieved she got out of the other place because of the reasons i mentioned before (the owners there were filthy - and btw.. they were rude).



Anyway, I didn't realize that she was on yellowpages.com until I was chatting with Hannah and she mentioned it to me. I have been wanting to find a place to write a review of Stacy and her shop - and I finally have a way to do that.



As I said, I do agree with most of the reviewers on here - Stacy is good at what she does, charges more than fair prices, takes good care of my dogs, AND is HIGHLY knowledgeable about dogs in general - including medical and nutritional issues. Plus, she's a hoot... what a character she is!



I also read one review on here that puzzled me... some "woman" says that her dog was ill treated at Stacy's and that Stacy was rude... I will admit, I have actually seen Stacy come down on owners that obviously, and chronically, don't take proper care of their animals - in cases like that I am glad that Stacy looks out for the animals that are neglected and/or abused - and anyone that takes a dog in a voluntarily neglected condition deserves whatever they get.



And in reference to the woman here giving the negative review about Stacy's shop, if you read her whole review, you will see that she IS a chronic neglector. She admits that she has taken her long haired dog into the groomers other time whtn the dog's hair is matted. THIS IS A REGULAR THING FOR HER? holy moly... that poor dog! why can't she just keep the dog brushed out and not expect the groomer to make up for her laziness and neglect. Does she not realize that when a dog gets matted like that, it is PAINFUL to the poor dog... I hope that some groomer eventually turns her in for her neglect. and, if she took her dog to the other "local groomer" I think it is (the shop where Stacy used to work), I am not surprised that they did not give her a bad time - from what I've heard around town, they are desperate for clients.



Stacy's shop is always busy, but she is always friendly, her shop is always clean, and I know that she has the dogs' best interest at heart... so anyone that finds anything different is probably the one with the problem!

The owner and staff of The Barking Lot rock. Stacy Brown, the owner, is the kindest and ,ost compassionate animal lover on the planet. She takes such amazing care of my dogs and grooms them beautifully. It is the only place I have ever taken them to be groomed where the dogs are happy to be dropped off and happy when I pick them up. They love being at The Barking Lot and in the presence and care of Stacy and that is worth it's weight in gold. You will love this place..... And so will your animals.

Absolutely terrific and professional grooming shop. Shannon did a masterful job giving our Maine Coon a summer lion cut. In fact, he looked so perfect that our cleaning lady mistook him for a toy on the bed and freaked out when he woke up and looked at her. Shannon also gave our Labradwarf (lab/bassett hound mix) a shave to keep her cool and tick free during the summer. Everyone was happy, we were thrilled, and the price was very reasonable!!! Glad to have such an excellent resource in Cleveland.

I have been in the pet industry for over 17 years and have seen a lot of groomers come and go, because of the way they ran their business. Stacy has everything it takes to have a successful grooming business. The shop is always VERY clean, the dogs are happy and well cared for, she is definitely an animal lover and loves her work. Stacy and her grooming staff do amazing work, she takes pride in each and every "furkid" that leaves her business, making sure they look their best. When I drive by, I always see beautifully groomed, happy, tail wagging clients leaving the Barking Lot. Definitely 5 Stars!!!!

They have certified groomer and a vet asst as a bather... they can get a dog from dirty to purty and smelling so fresh and clean.....

Top notch business and Groomer! Berkberk typifies the 10% of customers no business wants as a customer. Beth Walmsley has slandered this business in her denial of the abuse and neglect that created the situation with her pet.in the first place. She herself admits that her is always in poor condition ( matted and tangled) when she takes her dog in for grooming. Then she lied in insinuating that a Veterinarian commented on other like cases from this business. No professional Veterinarian would make such an ignorant comment without knowing the facts. The true fact is that Vet's see this type of owner neglect all too frequently. And based on the horrible condition this poor animal is obviously accustomed to - it appears that Veterinary care is not something this dog has ever experienced. And if the "regular" groomer was so wonderful, then why didn't she return to that groomer in the first place. Could it just be another lie? It's more likely that this abusive owner has run out of groomers who will accept this client. Negative comments by the business owner should be the least of your concern Ms. Walmsley. You should feel lucky that animal control was not called to document and cite you for animal abuse. Perhaps you should look in the mirror and admit to yourself that your embarrassment and ignorant immaturity caused you to deflect your fault to the first innocent person who dared to tell you the truth.



To anyone gullible enough to believe in a negative review from such an obvious idiot such as Walmsley, aka berkberk - I suggest that you go to this business un-announced and see for yourself the clean, friendly, well lit and ventilated facility with all of the wagging tales and beautiful grooming results for yourself. And be an adult and discuss your displeasure with any proprietor before you make up a bunch of lies and slander ones' business as this nutcase did.

The Barking Lot is owned by a true animal lover who puts the dogs' welfare before her business. Stacy and her staff have been cutting my three Yorkies for years and I couldn't be any happier with the way my babies are cared for and treated. The previous negative review is a shock to me. It is obviously a customer who was embarrassed by the neglectful condition of her dog. Only true neglect would cause a dogs' coat to be so matted and to be full of fleas and ticks. If you choose to be the owner of a pet, that means life long grooming and vet care. You can't expect a dog to be groomed once a year and for it to be a pleasant experience for the dog. Shame on you BerkBerk for allowing your poor dog to get that bad. If you had brought your dog to me I would have called Animal Control and filed a claim of animal abuse!!



Do not hesitate to bring your dog to the Barking Lot. You will find a clean, friendly, dog loving environment there!!

I am so shocked at the review I just read! I have been going to this groomer for the past 10 years and she has groomed three different breed of dogs for me on a regular bases. She has a heart of gold when it comes to her furry clients! She even has mini horses and several dogs of her own. She heard of a dog that needed rescued and called me to see if I could give him a forever home which I did and she gives him a groom free of charge for the rest of his life because now he has a good home.

It just so happends I was picking up one of my dogs when I saw this dog that she was working on. I am going to list the things I saw.

This poor dog had:

Incased in matts

her ears were matted to her neck

her eyes were shut due to the matter that was so thick she couldn't see

fecal matter and urine covered her back side

She was covered in fleas, ticks and maggots

her toenails were so bad they curled into the pad for her feet

there were maggots and tape worms eating her raw flesh

I have never seen such a bad case of abuse and told the groomer she should call Smithgal for this dog needed rescued!!

I am appalled that some one who treats an animal like this would write a review about this groomer.The gall of this person!!! I sure hope no one take this review as truth becaue it couldn't be further from the truth. This is a clean. friendly place to take your furry friend. You'll be happy you did and so will your best friend!
