Dental Examination
On July 23, 2014, Dr. Robbins brought Team Smile to Cleveland. She teamed up with the Cleveland Indians and Proctor & Gamble to make this event a reality. The Terrace Club at Progressive Field was turned into a state of the art dental facility. 357 Boys and Girls Club members were treated to a day of dental care and fun. All children received a dental exam, cleaning and treatment if necessary. This was the first dental experience for most of the children which was positive and fun. Dr. Robbins recruited 100 volunteers to help along with the day, which included 21 dentists. Over $150,000 dental work was donated on this day! A visit from Cleveland Indians alumni, Joe Charboneau, Slider and the Hotdogs topped off the dance party!

Teeth Cleaning
A: Regular dental visits help your child stay cavity-free. Teeth cleanings remove debris that build up on the teeth, irritate the gums and cause decay. Fluoride treatments renew the fluoride content in the enamel, strengthening teeth and preventing cavities. Hygiene instructions improve your child’s brushing and flossing, leading to cleaner teeth and healthier gums.

Dental Sealants
A: Sealants protect the grooved and pitted surfaces of the teeth, especially the chewing surfaces of back teeth where most cavities in children are found. Made of clear or shaded resin, sealants are applied to the teeth to help keep them cavity-free. They are placed on 6 year and 12 year molars regularly, and other teeth as necessary.

A: Find the tooth and rinse it gently in cool water. Do not hold the tooth by its root, only its crown. There are important fibers on it and they can be damaged. If possible, replace the tooth in the socket and hold it there with clean gauze or a wash cloth. If you can’t put the tooth back in the socket, place the tooth in a clean container with milk, saliva, or water. Call our office for a emergency appointment and if it’s after hours we will give you specific instructions on where to go for treatment. The faster you act, the better your chances of saving the tooth.
