The city of Coldwater is an incorporated municipality located in southwest Michigan. Established in 1861, it is a growing community with its citizens committed to family, education and local government. Its Web site provides a wide variety of information, including local government, Coldwater city services, the local community, and the city s master plan. It has a council-manager form of government. The citizens elect the city council, who in turn hires the city manager. The city manager is responsible for supervising and managing the entire city staff. The city of Coldwater offers various services through its different departments, including municipal services, the recreation department which maintains the city parks, and its engineering department which keeps streets, buildings and property maps up-to-date. The city clerk's office administers elections, registers voters, serves as clerk to the city council, and is the official record keeper for the city.
