The Colonial Heights Fire & Emergency Medical Services Department provides fire safety and prevention services. The department serves more than 17,000 residents of the City of Colonial Heights in Virginia. It offers emergency response solutions through its fire stations. The Colonial Heights Fire & Emergency Medical Services Department responds to various emergency calls related to natural disasters, hazardous materials incidents, and fire and severe weather emergencies. The department consists of administration, training, operations, prevention, emergency communication and emergency management divisions. It employs over 40 professionals. The Colonial Heights Fire & Emergency Medical Services Department works in partnerships with local emergency planning committees. The department is also responsible for the inspection of area businesses to ensure compliance with the Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code.
