Gamma Comics is a wonderful store, and the only real comic book store in the northeast area. I have read all the of previous reviews and some were quite disheartening. To judge someone by their appearance as "creepy looking" is just horrible. As for those claiming most of the 5 star reviews are from his friends, are wrong. There was just one and this was before he became close friends with Larry (the owner), and why? Because it is easy. He is such an easy going, helpful and kind individual. Often donating many items to local children charities. I am another real friend of Larry and feel I should explain why the store is disorganized/messy. It is the first year for a first time store owner, whose mother was diagnosed with cancer shortly after opening. He has spent every single cent he has made from the store and his personal savings to pay for her treatment, and weekly had to drive her out of town for treatment. Which explains why sometimes he wouldn't be there. Sadly she has passed just recently, and he has such dedicated customers many have come in to support and help him through this difficult time. I understand it is not up to the customer to know or care about this, but as with all things in life, there is a story behind everything. The store is currently being renovated, cleaned, and shall be sparkling by the end of this month! (Jan.2014). Gamma Comics has determined to turn things around and aims to impress! So please, those who doubted before, give it a second chance.

Disregarding the grievous state of affairs at the store itself, it's sad to me that all of the 5 star ratings given here are obviously given by friends. The only legitimate positive feedback given was at least a 3 star rating, but that comes from the person who sold this store the contents of theirs.

NICE PLACE, CLOSE TO HOME, ORDERS ANYTHING I'VE ASKED, PRICES ARE THE SAME AS ANYWHERE ELSE. AS FOR ORGANIZED, ASK IF YOU NEED TO. HALF THE FUN IS LOOKING AND FINDING THAT SOMETHING NEW WHILE YOUR LOOKING.

I am an owner of another local collectible shop, but I do not consider myself a rival, since I send many of my customers here, if I do not have what they are looking for. I've known Larry (the owner) for a long time and he has bought numerous things from me to resell in his shop. That is what good businesses do, they work with each other!
I'm not here to bash the store at all. It has so much potential, and I hope it grows to be one of the largest in the area. I do think that all these reviews have some things right, but also have some things wrong.
I took two stars away for two reasons. One, the shop needs to get more organized. And two, Larry should be in the shop more often. I'm just trying to give constructive criticism. I recommend all comic and collectible collectors to check it out. There are some very cool things in there, and I hope to see Gamma Comics around for many many years! I'll be back in soon!

This is where you can find Yugioh tcg, pokemon tcg, Magic Tcg, new comics, great new and vintage toys, classic video gaming systems, and also a great selection of Heroclix. The store if fairly new. The owner Larry was very helpful in getting what I needed and was willing to work with me on finding what I was looking for. Great comic shop. This is my new hang out spot.

I honestly love this store. It may not be the cleanest place around but it's a really great place. The owner is really nice and his staff are really fun people. I go every Friday I can to Dr Who club and I've never left without having an awesome time. The people there are really good friends to me now and I love shopping there. To the people who are hating on Gamma Comics, why don't you try it if you're going to be rude and mean about the store and its employees.

I have been in this shop a few times. It looks just as bad now, as it did when they first opened. I actually hoped it would have improved some, but the owner is not concerned with getting his shop in order! Prices are too high on MANY items. I read the other reviews, and you can tell that the owner's friends are putting the "good" reviews on here. I went back in to see, after the last one star review was given, and that person is right, it is dirty and unorganized. The nicest area in the place is where the tv is, and even that has trash laying around.
I laugh at the reviews that say "Best Comic Book Store I've Been To"! That tells me the person has been to very few, if any others! Or, "yeah they have a lot of boxes, but there is only one dumpster". How would a customer know about that, or even care?
Let me say, I have been in over 100 different comic shops in over 30 different states, and this place ranks at the bottom in appearance, first impression, organization, and customer service. I saw numerous items in here that are priced higher then other shops in the area. And the one reviewer was correct when they say the owner is creepy looking. I felt very uncomfortable in there, and I'm a man. And since we seem hooked on flea markets...... this place looks more like a thrift store. Comparing it to a flea market is just insulting to flea markets!
Bottom line..... I recommend you go see for yourself. Then you will leave knowing who is telling the truth! Even my son asked as we left, "Do they not know what a trash barrel is?!"
Just to reply to steven.rasmussen84, I'm not associated with ANY rival store as you suggest. And I'm not a nerd, I've been collecting comic books for over 31 years. But nice try! I will say, the employees that work there are helpful, but even one of them said, you should see the owner's house. So you can tell that the people giving the good reviews are friends or actually work there!

You have to go here. The next closest store like this is all the way by Decker and doesn't have this much stuff, and definitely doesn't have the same awesome prices. It has everything from cards to videogames to figures to books...and the list goes on. My friends and I love it and are constantly telling people about it. Before it opened I had to buy all that stuff online, like my cards and videogames, and now I can just run up the street and get it! They should totally hang some stuff on the walls (like wall scrolls :D) but other than that, we love it. I go in stores to buy stuff, not critique their interior designing skills. If you like the flea market so much better, then good luck trying to find what you want there for a good price. I saw a Gamecube game I had as a kid at the flea market for $50 and the guy wouldn't budge on his price at all, I bought the same game HERE for $13. The people are chill , prices are good, and they have a ton of stuff. I will be broke for as long as this store is in business. GOOD GAME. :P

If I could give a lower rating I would!!
This place is horrible. There is no rhyme or reason to this place. You can't find anything and if you ask for help, the poor guy don't know where anything is and has to call the owner because HE IS NEVER THERE!! Toys, boxes, empty food containers and a BIKE strewn all over the store.
The person who said it's a great store and that they only have one dumpster either works there or are friends with them because all you have to do is walk in the door and first impressions are EVERYTHING!! You have been open over 4 months and it looks worse than the first day you were opened!!
I went to go up to the counter to put down what I wanted to purchase and there is no where to put anything! It's disgusting, dirty and completely disorganized. And for the person who said it looks like a flea market, there are a few comic places at the Barnyard Flea Market and they don't look anything like this! They are clean, organized and the people are helpful! I will not be back.
I left there feeling like I had to take a bath in antibacterial sanitizer.
Get a clue, stay in your shop, and CLEAN IT!!
