Two Men and A Truck were very prompt and professional from start to finish. They arrived before time, wrapped the furniture thoroughly and placed the furniture at our new home in each room like I wanted. Several pieces of furniture was very heavy but they were moved without any difficulty. Even though it took a couple of hours longer than anticipated, the cost was still very reasonable. I have used Two Men and A Truck for the past several moves and will continue to do so.

Overall

Others (family and friends) told me about Two Men and a Truck and they gave them glowing reviews. I needed to move out so I decided to hire them. Unfortunately, my experience was far from glowing.

First, they can't read a map. I provided the specific address (which was on Main Street in Columbia). Somehow they ended up going from West Columbia/Blossom Street and going all the way to Rosewood (completely different direction).

Second, they had the audacity to charge me for THEIR mistake.

Third, they charged "add-on" fees that were never mentioned during our scheduling conversation (example: they added an "insurance" fee - one would think that a business would have its own insurance as a cost of doing business. Not so for Two Men and a Truck - they like make their customers pay for it without informing them until they get the bill.)

Fourth, the customer service was TERRIBLE; it was truly a fight to get any reductions in my bill. We had to go to the manager to get a reduction in the travel fee (It's their fault they can't read a map) and even then that was a fight. The manager refused to budge on the insurance fee.

Fifth, the movers were nice but slow as Methuselah! Think I'm exaggerating? 1. I had a 750 square foot condo (that's small, people). 2. Items that needed to be moved included a mahogany bedroom suite (queen sized bed, chest of drawers, one side table, wall mirror), a couch with a wood frame, a wooden slider chair, and a small side table by the couch. 3. My father and another man he hired moved half of the stuff. 4. Two Men and a Truck were there from 9am until 1pm. Seriously?

Sixth (Lastly), I was not there to look over my furniture before my father signed the liability release on any damage (I was at work). When I got home, I immediately noticed numerous deep gashes in the frame of my great grandmother's mahogany bed frame. Naturally, I'm peeved that they weren't held accountable for the damage, but I am most upset about the fact that the bed was damaged. Don't trust them with your priceless antiques/heirlooms!

In short, the slogan for Two Men and a Truck should be changed to "Movers Who Care, But Only About Their Bottom Line."
