WE ARE FROM OHIO, THE LOCALS RECOMMENDED BOBBY Q'S. I'M GLAD THEY DID, THE FOOD WAS GREAT AND AT A GOOD PRICE. SPENCER THE OWNER CAME TO OUR TABLE AND OTHERS, JUST TO ASK HOW EVERYTHING WAS. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO EVERYONE.
THANKS, JIM AND PAM

We have been coming to this establishment for many years, and being a nurse, needless to say I'm very familiar with wait X and customer service. Recently, I came from Nashville to bring my mother for lunch, one of her favorites. It was packed, which is good, but the wait was much longer than usual we had been there approximately an hour. I asked her waitress how much longer and that we have been there for a while because I was going to have to go home. She was extremely unfriendly, so that we're just really busy. I tried to tell her that I was a nurse and I was very familiar. But was just checking. And then disappeared. We did receive our order within the next 5 minutes. However she did not speak at all, no refills no smile no apology no nothing, she essentially through the plates on the table. And we have a few Witnesses from the other tables. Then she proceeded to check on everyone in that section except us multiple times tried to make friends with the young man at the table beside us. The only other thing she said was I'm going to go ahead and leave the check with you ladies. Now my mother never wants to return, and she is one of the most tolerant quiet individuals that I know. I'm typically the one with the opinion. However, that behavior in my profession would have me written up and potentially terminated. As I would never behave that way with my patients. Our server was new to the establishment. Therefore, the food is still good, and typically so is the service, but this was completely unacceptable. And quite potentially lost multiple customers over that incident as I have quite a bit of influence. However she is very young, and just needs to learn a little bit about customer service.

bad service, bad prices, small portions, bad quality. i live in cookeville and there are much better barbeque places intown for cheaper prices and more product.
I have owned this restaurant for 25 years and I have never been told by any of my customers that we did not serve large portions and that also our service was the best in the city. I would like for this person to contact me and consent to give us another chance to change their minds. We have been voted the best barbeque place in Cookeville in 2011 by the readers of the Herald-Citizen and also we were chosen as one of the best barbeque spots between Memphis and Knoxville by Tennessee Cross Roads TV show. I know not everyone has the same tastes, but I would love the chance to serve you my food again. Thanks

I feel the same way! We live several miles away and had been told the same thing as yourself. This was not bar b que in any fashion that I know. Yes, the people are friendly, but that does not make up for bad bar b que (we tried it all). Sometimes people promote a family enviroment and get used to the way they do things. I myself would prefer great consistent food with a little attitude. As for family and friends, do not give anymore gift certificates!! I know you were loving, but thanks anyway!!!
As owner of the business I would very much like for you to contact me personally and tell me of your problem. I see where you say that you have tried all of the things on my menu, but still find that you do not consider us in any form ,what you would call barbeque.I am sorry that we did not please you and would like another chance to earn your business again. If you would like to contact me I would be most happy to work something out to your acceptance. We were just voted best barbeque in the Upper Cumberland by the Herald-Citizen Readers and I am very proud of this because it came from the people who eat here and also eat at other barbeque restaurants. Thanks for your responce and I hope if you eat here again you will call me over to your table. Thanks Mike

I grew up in Louisiana and I guess I have been spoiled as far as barbeque is concerned. We were told by a few of the locals here that this restaurant had really good barbeque. Well either we ate on a bad night or we are just used to better barbeque. We just weren't that impressed. I have eaten barbeque in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, and Indiana and this did not compare to anything I have eaten before. Sorry. Still looking for better barbeque.
