Ronald McDonald House

My daughter Zoe was born premature at Christus Sphon Hospital 4 days ago. Her mother was incarcerated at the Nueces County Jail when she went into labor and returnd to the jail 2 days after she delivered. I drove from houston to be with our daughter and am here at her bedside now. The wonderful social worker contacted the Ronald McDonald House on my behalf after hearing about our family's situation. Waking up in my truck after a long night I received a call from the soicial worker saying that the Ronald McDonald House Charity had offered me their home for at least the next 5 days. I got to the home and received a very warm welcome and was taken to a comfortable room with an even more comfortable bed where I got some much needed rest after a hot shower. There was food avaliable to myself and all the families in a large communal kitchen. Everything was clean and kept so by all the families and a staff of workers. Every family at the home is there supporting a very sick child fighting for his or her life. This charity makes it possible for these families to do so, myself included. I dont know what I would do without them. My little four pound fighter is in the NIC Unit fighting to live. The wonderful doctors and nurses here at Christus Sphon South are helping her live and thanks to the Ronald McDonald Charity House I am able to be here and bear witness to another of Gods Miracles.
