Sundown Transmissions

Tom tells me he does service Audi's and he'll be happy to take a look at it. His diagnostic fee is $59.95 I drop my vehicle off and two days later he calls me saying there is codes coming back into his diagnostic computer. There are 2 cylinders reading faulty. He tests both cylinder with his multi-meter and they are reading ok. He tells me he doesn't have the Audi computer diagnostic tool to read all of the information coming from the car. He says he doesn't service enough of these vehicles to invest $1000 in the correct tool but he spend $4000 on the one he has and it will give him very general readings and is really meant to be used on other vehicles.
A few days go by and he finds there is water going into my transmission control module. He offers to purchase a used replacement from eBay for $75 because a new one from Audi is $1500 and he still doesn't know if it will solve the problem. The used one comes in and doesn't work. A week goes by and he can't go any further into my issue, once again he does not have the right tools to copy information from the old computer to the replacement. He says I owe him $431.61, I have to pay him or else he keeps my car with a mechanics lean due to non payment. I am now currently in the same exact position I was when I first started with Tom, except I am less $431.61, I have 2 non functioning TCM's (transmission control modules), wasted a week of my time, and still have to pay someone else to fix my vehicle. I will be pursing legal action against this business and filing a ticket with the BBB. This could have all been avoided with an honest original answer about not having Audi tools to service their cars. I found another Audi service tech who's diagnostic is slightly higher than Tom's (99.95) He claims he can read information off Audi's and copy data from TCM's. If anything I have learned a valuable, expensive lesson here when dealing with mechanics!
