Allegany Co-Op Insurance Co

Allegany is a company that works hard to do their job to the best of their ability. I've heard many things about them and I hope they continue to do well.

This company canceled my insurance, would not renew it, and tried to bill me for an additional several thousand dollars after cancelling me because I failed to complete the " voluntary audit". They have been incredibly hard to deal with and claim to be understaffed so that's why it takes so long to get any answers from them. They have now lowered there ( extra ) bill to around 3500 which is on top of the full years premium which has already been paid. There extra bill is more than my new insurance annual premium by itself, and they refuse to explain why there rate is so ridiculously high even though I asked in writing.... Watch out for these guys! I would never recommend them to anyone.

Well I have never filed a claim since we became a customer of Allegany Insurance. Several years ago we put a new woodstove in our dining room and it wasn't quite up to specs so we did some remodeling, sent some pictures to Allegany and apparently all was fine. We haven't heard from them since... until yesterday. "We are NOT going to renew your policy". We have been "snowbirds" the last four years from October 1st through April 30th.

Our insurance agents have changed (without notice and receiving this letter on non-renewal. I'm not too happy this is being requested in winter season with only 2 months to accomplish their project requests some of wiitch are simple nstalling handrails on porch steps. I have a wood storeage lean-to with a near flat roof.Should have been replaced last year but I had a heart attack last winter and had to work on my septic system last summer so I did not get it done. It is covered with moss, I'll admit.This springs project. Another shed attached to the west side of the house to be replaced, it doesn't leak but I have patched it in spots. They want eaves installed witch haven' been on the house since 1964 when the remaining pieces fell off nor have they ever been requested. When icicles fall off the house metal roof the eave troughs will be torn off also. Finally ! Will that be an insurance claim?

I had a baler fire in april and It was covered by allegany insurance. It is now June and i still dont have a new baler. Every time i submit what they are asking for they ask for something new. Now they are asking for my tax returns, pay stubs and utility bills. What the hell does that have to do with an insurance clame. Run, dont walk from this company if you are looking for an easy to deal with reputable company.
