Me and couple of buddies were in Dallas for business and found the Inwood BBQ shack and fell in love. Had the rib dinner one night and had to go back for the Pig Out Platter for lunch the next day. No nonsense, great BBQ.

So glad you are still in business! I have such fond childhood memories of my mother and I going to garage sales early on Sat. mornings and getting lunch at Smokey's. Chopped, extra sauce and relish with fries. New Orleans tries hard on their barbq., but it is just not Tex. style. Thanks for the great food and memories.

5 Stars? No.

I stumbled upon this joint during a layover. Cool building on the outside, but the food is nothing special. its good, not great, and I'd go so far as to say the sides, at least the potato salad and cole slaw are subpar. I I'm not terribly impressed for the money I dropped.

We ate at Sonny Bryans in the West End while visiting the King Tut exhibit at the DMA, this location is a convenient quick train ride from the Museum. Located in quaint area of restaurants in Dallas, the West End, Sonny Bryans has the best pork ribs I ever had. Try the big rib man plate, around 12 ribs for 18USD, but way more than enough food for 2, so you can share. It comes with 2 hearty sides, a salad, fresh rolls, and a hearty portion of pickles, sliced onions jalapenos. Sit by the window, you get to look down at all the street traffic and passersby, also has outdoor seating but it was too windy that day. Excellent onion rings, a must have and try the turkey and brisket. The smoked sausage was mediocre. Service was excellent. The lavatory is located in the basement, accessible thru a lift. Sonny's has multiple locations, and when we asked around for the best bbq, Sonny's was recommended again and again.

I love it! I have been eating there since I was a kid and I'm almost a senior citizen now. I recommend everyone to try this place.

The absolute BEST barbecue ANYWHERE! I've tried them all. There may be a bigger selection of sides at other places, but, heck, you go for the BARBECUE!!!! And their onion rings are awesome, too. And try the okra. The cobbler... I'll stop now.

I have been eating here since moving to Texas in 1965. Miss the one in McKinney. There needs to be one in Plano or Allen.

My husband grew up on Red Bryan's BBQ and when Sonny took over he continued the tradition! Since we moved to Florida we have not been able to find anything as good! He LOVES the trips back to Dallas or Sonny Bryan's!
