First Stop Auto Sales

I am a bit disappointed with First Stop Auto Sales. I found a 1994 Toyota 4x4 pickup truck that I like and made a cash offer. I work crazy shifts and was not available to go to the dealership in person so I sent my wife to pick up the truck and bring it to my work so I could look it over and drive it. I was pleased with the truck so I had her go ahead and purchase it. They gladly took my money, put temp tags on it and handed her an envelope with the paperwork in it. My next day off was on a Thursday a week latter. I opened the envelope assuming I would find the title to my pick up. No title!!! When I called Terry explained that they did not have the clear title that there was a lein on it. He went on to say that they were going to take care of the lein and order the title. Excuse me??? You sold me a truck without a clear title?? Is that even legal??? But the worse part of it is that he did not even bother to tell me or my wife about the title situation. I had to open the paperwork and find out for myself. Terry told me that he would have the title by Monday. It is now 9pm on Monday night and I never got a call from First Stop Auto. I plan on calling them first thing in the morning about my title. I decided the truck wasn't exactly what I wanted and had a friend offer to take it off my hands. But I am stuck without a title!!! If they don't have my title by tomorrow I expect them to offer me a refund and take the truck back. I wonder what the BBB would feel about this or whoever regulates auto dealerships?? Will let you know how it turns out. Disappointed with the lack of honesty regardless.
