I moved to last summer with my family of two cats and one dog and couldn't be more pleased to have discovered Southpoint Animal Hospital. Dr. Farling and her staff provided courteous, professional service and went out of their way to answer my questions and address my concerns. Unlike with other veterinary practices, I never felt hurried or rushed in any way, nor were our wait times at all excessive. Their facility is top notch as well. I would recommend Southpoint Animal Hospital to anyone looking for excellent care for their four-legged loved ones.

Well, I finally found a ethical, and caring veterinary hospital. Southpoint Animal Hospital is one of a kind. My current vet was busy so I called Southpoint AH and they got me in the same day. My cat was vomiting and just wasnt feeling good. After the exam, I received an estimate for services because my cat needed to have fluids and stay in their hospital for 24 hrs. They called and gave me update.. which i loved ( my cat is like my child). When I picked up my cat.. the actual bill was $25.00 lower. I was very pleased with the care, and service from all of the Southpoint team members. I am switiching my pet records over to them. AWESOME!!

I just had my dog Clyde in for an emergency on Saturday. It was the only place open after noon that I could find. They worked me into a busy day, fixed his problem (he had a cut from the dog park), and he didnt stop wagging his tail!
Thanks for the great help, I think I found myself a new vet! A++

We have been (my wife and I) clients of Southpoint for 2 years. I have nothing but glowing things to say. I love that my dogs (and even, a little bit, my cat) love to go there. They actually pull us in! I have gone to several hospitals in the triangle, and bar none, these folks have it down.
Keep up the good work!

Let me start by saying I found them via Angieslist and had my German Shepherd's puppy shots done there which went fine.
About two months later my dog jumped and landed wrong and broke his rear outside toe. In the past I had been seen by two of the three vets there and they were average to above average, however, on 2/25/2013 I saw the third for the toe being broken. This vet tried to grab his foot with the obvious broken toe and when jumped she wanted to put a muzzle on him. Then a tech and the vet
tried to wrestle him to submission to inspect his foot, which went very poorly. In the end the dog was sedated and a splint put on. The estimate was off by $150.00. The vet complained the dog had diarrhea while under sedation and again waking up in the kennel. The vet said he was wild and untrained. My dog will sit, stay, down and plays with kids at soccer games, however, he is a puppy and wil move around. The puppy had stress diarrhea from the break and a vet who did not know better than to add tenfold to the stress. Instructions leaving were to change the outside wrap due to diarrhea and that was it. I was supplied the take and one roll of stretch wrap. Direction was to change the outer layer, come back in three weeks for xray and splint to be romoved. I found out that xrays at 3 weeks would have been of no use, as the bone would likely have have solid bone tissue growth that can be seen on an xray. There are a host of other issues like leaving a message for me on the wrong number, using some other patients name when talking about my dog. I cannot understand how this vet got such great reviews other than maybe others just got vaccines there.
On 3/2/2013 I had to take him to the emergency vet due to the poor dog had sores from the splint being put improperly and being retained by tape to his fur which he developed a severe reaction to. The emergency Vet said that had I not brought him in when I did it could have been much worse and could have been a lose of a foot. The emergency Vet could not believe that I was not instructed to change the whole splint bandage every 4 to 5 days. In addition, I was told that they do not use tape there for this very reason.
Do be careful in selecting a vet there and if you must see another other vet than the one you select at the office you may want to consider going to an urgeant care vet. Tried talking to them but they seemed more interested in avoiding any implication that they messed up. I asked the emergency vet, who was great, for vet references to locate a new primary vet. Total cost of the ordeal was around $800 due to the complications resulting from the lack of follow-up care direction and poor splinting. My wish is no other dog has to suffer through this type of pain which could have and should have been avoided.
