Lake Oconee Urgent and Specialty Care

I really like Urgent Care. Now my only complaint is the fact that they are now closed on weekends. That's kind of the point of having an Urgent Care. To see a Dr. when most are closed. This new time is unacceptable.

Pediatric patient with red blisters in the mouth. With three kids I knew it was either hand, foot and mouth or Strep. First nurse came in and tries to look in his throat but asks me "what is it you see?" I had to grab MY cell phone and use the flashlight (she didn't have one!) and show her myself! She then fumbles through a strep swabbing. Then the "Dr" came in and seems scared of him. She was fumbling with gloves and stood a distance while looking at him. She states the strep test is negative but it is definitely strep and prescribes and antibiotic. Thank god for mothers instincts. I watched him almost certain this was hand foot and mouth. It's been 10 hours since told it was strep and we now have blisters on the hands feet and buttocks. It is NOT STEP but hand foot and mouth. I've since sent pictures to my pediatrician to confirm. This place GUESSED at his diagnosis. Prescribed unnecessary medicine . Lake Oconee needs another urgent option!!!

had early signs of flu and went here on mon. 2-23-2015. i had been before they started this concierge program which i disagree with because money should not have any influence on getting special treatment at least not medically. i was happy in past so tried them mon. doc. said i was dehydrated and wanted to give i v fluids, well the nurse came in with trainee and was putting in cath in arm after a minute or so of some sort of issue i looked to see what the nurse was doin and i had bled out down my arm and on the floor...finally got fluid goin and they checked in a couple times but last check i bag was low . when nurse came in last time to hang another bag i had pinch off line myself cause bag ran dry before she showed up. she said she got busy so they decided not to worry about another bag. went home and thurs of same week it hit me with fever and chills i called and left message fri. if they could call me in an antibiotic.didnt get call back till closing time sat. i called early fri. so i feel they had plenty of time to call me before end of day fri. or at least early sat. they left message on my phone at closing sat. and they could not that i needed to come in for stool sample. since when do they take stool sample for flu....service stunk and makes me feel like if i gave a couple thousand dollars for concierge i would got better service as for i v that was just inexperience. my arm is still bruised. i would not recommend this place to no one. i will go to emergency first....

My daughter had to be seen on our first day of vacation. The staff was amazing. They were so caring and did such a great job

I love all three of the doctors who work there, great and very helpful. But the one time I was on the phone with their nurse practitioner, instead of trying too see why I was having issues (asking about abnormalities, and what was going on) or even telling me there was no way to help. She started questioning why I even cared when most people were ok with not having a period. If she had asked I would have explained that it was all just hunky dory down there but instead she snaps at me that I should make an appointment with a doctor implying that she didn't want to deal with me as a high maintenance patient, and when I said ok, she hung up without a goodbye, or a thank-you for choosing lake Occonee urgent care.
