        Founded in 1906, the Elk City Fire Department is a part of the city of Elk City, Okla. The department offers pre-hospital emergency medical services. Its each ambulance is equipped with advanced airway equipment and cardiac monitors and medications to provide life saving intervention services. The Elk City Fire Department also operates fire and rescue units. The department provides home fire safety tips. It employs more than 20 full-time and over 15 volunteer firemen. The department provides public education programs. It responds to approximately 1,600 calls yearly. In addition, the department offers transportation services. The Elk City Fire Department operates ladder, engine and rescue trucks.
