- Helpful Tips Septic System In theory, a septic tank system is an ideal way to dispose of ordinary household wastewater. It is self-contained, efficient and inexpensive. In practice, though, it often turns out to be a disaster. Problems could be caused by poor design, poor construction or poor site evaluation. But often they are caused by the way the system is used. A properly designed and installed septic system should give 15 to 20 years of trouble-free service. But it won't last anywhere near that long if the homeowner doesn't understand how it works and fails to take good care of it. Fully a quarter of all U.S. households use septic systems. Most of those homes are in rural or suburban areas without municipal sewage facilities.

I called Rotz around noon fri 8/25, talked to Stephanie, told her i needed my septic pumped, she said they were booked up until the beginning of Sept. I told her it was kind of an emergency! She said let me call you back in 5mins, she called back and said the guys are jumping in a truck and should be there in 15mins. Thank you Stephanie and crew!

I called and was told the tech would call for me to okay the service before he did anything. He did not call and performed the work anyways. Totally unprofessional. When I called to complain the woman on the phone said it wasn't their problem because they were too busy.

They came out in July and pumped the wrong side of the septic tank. They should have known that there is 2 manhole covers especially when they did not pump any slug in a system that had not been pumped to 24 years. They are obviously clueless!!! I would never use them again!!!

Don't ever use this company! They are not professional in any way! They are not looking out for the home owner is anyway, and they do not follow the rules when it comes to turning in compliance inspection forms to the county.

I have a home warranty through Home Warranty of America (HWA) and when my septic system backed up into my yard, the company HWA recommended to us to use was Rotz Septic. Our warranty information was sent to Rotz that day. No word from Rotz for 2 days and the septic was still leaking into the yard. I finally called Rotz myself to schedule someone to go out and fix the problem. They said they could only pump it that day and said they would send the owner out the following day (Friday) to check it out. No word from them Friday, so I called and the receptionist said the workers had gone home for the day. Great. Monday comes and I hear nothing from them, so my husband calls Tuesday to figure out if someone went out to the house yet (we don't live there currently). Of course they didn't. She was waiting for US to call her to tell her it was okay to send someone out....umm, we established this Thursday of the week prior. Not a very bright staff working at Rotz apparently. So a couple of days go by and no word. My husband calls again, and again the ignorant receptionist says they were waiting for us to call and give them the okay to go fix the septic (seriously!) and finally scheduled a real date that they would be out (meanwhile my neighbors are enduring the nasty mess in our yard and theirs the whole time). The receptionist at Rotz then tells us that they will not honor the warranty, that we have to figure it out ourselves and that she received a 15 page document from HWA that she refused to even waste time to read. We call the home warranty company to tell them that Rotz will not work with ANY insurance company and has said several times that they will only deal with us and we can go fight for our warranty reimbursment ourselves. Since Rotz is recommended through HWA, they should be calling and talking to HWA to let them know what's wrong with the septic. They do the work at the home finally and call us immediately requesting payment. I called HWA to let them know they need to call Rotz to figure out if the problem is covered under our warranty. They call Rotz and leave a message. Rotz won't call them back, so again we call HWA and explain that Rotz is a shady company that refuses to work at all with any insurance company. I got another a message today from Rotz requesting their money (we JUST received the bill in the mail), asking us when we were going to send it. Well, since they don't seem to be in any hurry to fix someone's leaking septic after several calls, I think I will send them their money at my convenience, which won't be any time soon. This company is slow, SHADY, expensive, and untrustworthy! I will never, ever use this company again. DO NOT USE THEM!!! STAY AWAY!!!
