Overall

I have attended both Wallace and Cambridge so I have the perspective on both for evaluation purposes. Yes, Ms. Fran is very nice and helpful. She is also a good instructor who insures that you get the information and skills in the area she is instructing on or she will not allow you to move on to the next level. She will stay after class is out to provide one-on-one hands on help to anyone who wants it. She has had to put up with students who sleep in class and then get upset when they fail a test. She has had to put up with students who do not show up for class on test day and who cannot believe that they still have to take the test. Wallace will drop these students but Ms. Fran tries to work with these undisciplined students. I have purchased a student kit from Sally's, however they are very basic and do not contain everything the student will need to succeed in class. I have purchased a student kit from Wallace and they are more expensive than the Cambridge kits but still do not contain everything you will need. Cambridge kits contain the specific items you will need because she orders them as you need to use them so that you are not lugging around a bunch of items back and forth to class as I had to do at Wallace. Instructors at Wallace are also nice and helpful. Students will also sleep in class but the instructors are not concerned. The class instruction length is about the same for both and the hands-on time is about the same for both. Committed students attend both and duds attend both.

Get your money worth at Cambridge school of cosmetology

Hey I am Simmons 1987

I would like to say that I am a student at Cambridge school of cosmetology as we speak. I have been here for five months so far and have enjoyed it so much. I admire ms. Fran helpful one on one training that she provides for each student. You can tell that she really cares for students and is willing to help them in anyway that she can. She also wants her students experience at Cambridge to be a productive and successful experience. She helps her students to be successful in life,in school, and in the cosmetology filled. Yes when you start you have to put 1500 dollars down that is alot but not as much as other schools. The 1,500 will get you your books and your starter kit that comes with everything you will need to get started in school. There is something's that you will have to get on your own like hand soap, hand sanitizer, gloves, alcohol, and peroxide. When she orders your kit she try's to order more than one student at a time, but she will order one if she needs to. We do get alot of clients to practice cutting, perming, color and much much more. Clients are very friendly and also want to see us be successful in the cosmetology field. Ms Fran will ask EVERYONE to do chores to help keep the classroom clean and the salon clean cause clients don't want to come into a Nasty place. Ms Fran is not going to ask you to do anything that she will not do are have not done before. You also have to clean to meet state board requirement. Cambridge is a wonderful and great school. Just ask her students now and students that have graduated to go out in the filled. We love u ms Fran.

Yes, Ms Fran is sweet, but tha...

Yes, Ms Fran is sweet, but that does not necessarily make a good teacher. The class maybe a hour and a half long,That consist Ms fran or a "Student" reading from a book, and you writting down evrthing as she reads. The rest of the day is pretty much enpty, and boring. Well, unless a client walks in "Maybe 0-3 a day!" Oh, don't forget you will be assigned chores, cleaning bathrooms, taking out trash, mopping, vacuuming etc...Also you should ask for an itemized statement of the $1,500 worth of materials. "that you could buy on your own at RETAIL for less, and DON'T expect to receive your kit in a timely manner, except for youyr books. Talking about books...even if a friend has the exact text book, or if you can find iit cheaper elsewhere, you must still BUY it from Ms Fran. As far as Ms Fran being in business for 20, and not a single person failing State Board , not sure about that or how to find it out. I'm not trying to discourage anyone, but just want to let you know what to expect, before you put $1,500 down "No refund" and another $5,000 to be paid by the end of school, all the other supplies you have to buy on your own, certain curling irons,
