Dental Examination
In some cases, your first visit with Kneib Dentistry may be due to an acute problem, such as injury, bleeding, or severe pain. The good news is that we can get you in quickly – usually the same day! This will be a shorter exam to address your immediate problem. After your dental emergency is treated, we will find a convenient time for you to return for a full evaluation and comprehensive dental exam.
X-rays
During a typical dental check-up at Kneib Dentistry, you can expect to have your teeth and gums examined for any issues. Dental Sealants

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
During your procedure, Dr. Kneib will numb the area with local anesthesia. Depending on the type of oral surgery, the dentist may advise that you be put under general anesthesia (aka unconscious sedation). You may also receive
Gum Surgery
The second, third, and fourth stages are initial, moderate, and advanced "periodontal disease," respectively. These stages are different from gingivitis because the infection has destroyed the bone supporting the teeth, causing eventual tooth loss. At Kneib Dentistry, the treatment is more involved at these stages, usually consisting of a special cleaning with anesthesia and sometimes gum surgery.
Tooth Extractions
When there are no other reasonable options left to take, extractions are typically the acceptable route of treatment. Here at Kneib Dentistry, we can provide dental extractions (inclusive of wisdom teeth), as well as various other oral surgical procedures. After we have already looked at every option to attempt to salvage and/or restore a tooth, the last resort is to extract the tooth.
Bone Grafting
To qualify for dental implant surgery, you'll need to have healthy oral tissue and jawbone ridges that are in good shape. For people with a thinner or smaller jawbone, a CAT scan is typically needed to determine whether an implant is possible. In some cases, bone grafting is needed to add bone mass to the jaw. When the tooth replacement is inserted into the jaw, a chemical and mechanical bond is formed, and the jawbone actually grows into the implant. It generally takes around six months for the tooth replacement to successfully fuse with the bone.
