It practices in the areas of family, elder, insurance, real estate, intellectual property, and business and corporate law. The firm represents radio and television stations throughout the United States in matters related to licensing, regulations and rulemaking proceedings. It also represents school districts in issues concerning civil rights, liability claims, and employment and labor relations. In addition, the firm assists charitable trusts and foundations in matters related to formation, operation and employee relations. Its attorneys are members of the Oregon State Bar Association, Lane County Bar Association, Oregon Association of Defense Counsel and Association of Defense Trial Attorneys. Guardianships and Conservatorships: We assist with all aspects of this often complex process, including preparation of petitions to appoint a guardian or conservator, advising on the placement of protected persons in care facilities, defending or challenging the placement of a person in a facility, and related matters.
Representing both insurers and policyholders allows our attorneys to recognize the facts and issues from any side of an insurance coverage issue. Our lawyers represent insurers proving the scope of intended coverage, as well as individual persons wrongly denied coverage or with unexpected personal exposure beyond their insurance limits. Hannah received her J.D. from the University of Oregon in 2024. During law school, Hannah was a business law fellow, a tutor for the school’s renowned legal research and writing program, and a law clerk for the Oregon Department of Justice General Counsel division, Health and Human Services section. Hannah also clerked at Luvaas Cobb for a year before joining the team as an attorney.

Bob’s experience over the years was primarily in the litigation and counseling of product liability, commercial and business litigation, insurance coverage disputes, personal injury, work-site accidents, professional malpractice, employment issues and construction and building defect issues. During the last few years before his entry into semi-retirement, Bob also provided services as a mediator in each of these areas, including for the Oregon Court of Appeals mediation panel.
Sexual Harassment
We represent employers with claims brought by employees alleging wrongful discharge, denial of due process, sexual harassment, retaliation, discrimination, hostile work environment or whistleblowing. We provide advice on union contract negotiations, unfair labor practice complaints and the arbitration of grievances under collective bargaining agreements. Our attorneys can also assist employers facing EEOC, OSHA, BOLI, ADA or ADEA investigation or violation complaints.

Premises Liability
School Districts: Attorney Joe B. Richards has represented school districts in Oregon for over 30 years, regularly representing 13 school districts in the Willamette Valley. The firm has obtained successful outcomes in matters involving employee claims, premises liability, failure to provide adequate supervision or instruction, student bullying and harassment, and unconstitutional searches. Luvaas Cobb has also defended claims brought under Title IX, 42 USC Section 1983, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
