Amalgam fillings are made up of liquid mercury combined with an alloy of tin, silver and copper. This semi-soft metal is pushed into a hole made after a cavity has been removed by a dentist. Modern dental offices normally do not place amalgam fillings (and have not for many years) because there is no seal that is possible from an amalgam filling, and "leakage" is almost a certainty.

Dr. Ganesh received her undergraduate degree in dentistry and went on to pursue research in dental materials and biomaterials, where she became immersed in prosthetic materials and their bio/surface interactions. Desiring one on one care of patients, Dr. Ganesh went on to pursue specialty training in P eriodontics and Implant Surgery from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rutgers University). Dr. Ganesh has been in private practice ever since, where she enjoys helping her patients to improve their dental health with her specialist training and skills.

Zoom! whitening is a great way, especially for patients who have busy schedules or have other reasons for being irregular with their bedtime routines. After our assistants form a blocking layer around your soft tissue, the whitening gel is combined with an activating light to immediately brighten your teeth.

Dr. Joan Yoo has been practicing dentistry for more than a decade and has extensive training in many areas of general dentistry. In the early years of her career, Dr. Yoo performed extensive oral surgeries including full mouth extractions and emergency trauma cases. Dr. Yoo now focuses more on restorative treatment with an emphasis on Minimally Invasive Dentistry.
