Although the Hampton Inn Fairhaven MA might be okay for a pit stop on a road trip, you should not rely on them to handle a group of guests for an event. I recently used them for my wedding, I had rooms blocked off and therefore inquired about a shuttle service to the location of the event which was 5 miles away. I spoke with the Director of Sales who seemed to be knowledgeable about the subject. After a 10 minute conversation I decided to used their van to bring guest to and from the wedding. We agreed to specific time intervals and that we would leave the possibility to make runs after those intervals in case the party ran late. 2 weeks after this conversation I received a phone call from the Director of Sales who then proceeded to ask me all of the same questions over again as if we had not had the first conversation. Since this phone call worried me I had my now wife call them to confirm the schedule a few days before the event, she reported to me that it was again seeming like we were setting it up for the first time. The day of the event started off with the van showing up seemingly on time and bringing guests as planned, however the end of the night did go as smoothly. A half hour before the last run was scheduled to depart I was informed by a guest that the last run was about to leave. Knowing I was paying for the next half hour I approached the van driver (who turned out to be the Director of Sales I had made the appointment with) and reminded her about our agreed upon time window. At this point the Director of Sales told me I was incorrect and she had only ever spoken to the bride. Trying to resolve the situation I reminded her that we would pay for any amount of time we go over the scheduled runs. To this I got a rude reply and told that no matter what was said or done she was leaving for the last time in 5 minutes. At this point I returned to the function to tell the remaining guest to leave and arrange rides for those who were left. Two days after the event I called the hotel and spoke with the General Manager about the situation that had taken place. Half way through me telling her about the scheduling process she interrupted me and said that I was wrong because the “store policy” was not to ever drive the van after 11 P.M. She went on to tell me that she had a “written contract,“ which was actually an instruction sheet we had supplied our guests with. At this point she said “I am sorry if you feel that way but you are incorrect, we would never do that” referring to the Director of Sales being rude to me in front of my guests. She continued to cut me off every time I tried to say anything with that same comment at which point I was forced to hang up. Moral of the story, the management at this hotel is rude and inconsiderate, after calling up for a simple apology I instead was accused of lying and was rudely interrupted multiple times.
