Allow me to shed some light on this so called " Elderly care outfit " Not long ago, one of my siblings informed me that my parent has a new care provider , from companions and homemakers. I didn't think much about it but I was happy for the information my brother told me. Shortly afterwards , I visited my parent, Who told me that she was robbed , I didn't get the connection at first, She's at home all day ... except for MD appointments. I had her explain to me exactly what happened ...After she explained herself to me, almost in tears, I called my brother and he confirmed this crime that took place right under your own noses ,in the privacy of her own home. My Parent keeps a small safe with money in it, under lock and key. And one day its contents was gone. It was a significant amount of money along with some of my late grandmothers jewelry, After a police report of this crime reported and the police did there follow up. There was nothing the police they could do as far as arresting or filing charges. I can say this. . The individual accused of this crime has had been informed to come to the authorities to explain or answer to the accusations against them. She did not show up as she was informed to do so by the authorities. As for Companions and Homemakers they told us that she no longer works for us.... I told a close and dear friend of mine of this who works for Companions and homemakers of this crime and she told me they did not do any finger printing on her. And she does not know what kind of background checks they did on her before she was hired. With all this being said ..My point is... money and jewelry can be replaced ,not your parent or your loved one. As for Companions and Homemakers. There incompetent and how did they get a licences to operate is beyond me. The owners should have either department of social services or consumer protection or both investigate them and there hiring protocol . But don't wait for that to be solved over night people . If you have a loved one or know someone who is under companions and homemakers care. you need to make some calls people...As for my parent she is in the care of different home care service and in better hands

Very client centered. Being part of the largest, most well-known and best provider in the industry is something to hang your hat on. Opportunities available around strengths you bring to the team, which also keeps the day to day interesting. Lots of community involvement and opportunity to participate, from Alzheimer’s to Cancer research to pet rescue!
monthly lunches, incentive programs, wellness program, fun outings, LOTS of community involvement and charitable work

In desperate need of home care services for my Mom, I worked with this company to secure services while I worked. On day one - that's right - the first day - the care giver was a no show. The agency called me at 8 a.m. to tell me the care giver had an emergency and would be unable to come. They said "perhaps" they could find someone to cover. Later, I received an apologetic voice mail message. Too little, too late - great way to start off with a new client. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of Companions and Homemakers.

This company is horrible! You'd be better off hiring an 11 year old babysitter. The caretaker couldn't speak very much English, and when she did she was extremely hard to understand. She showed up an hour late and sat and read a magazine. She didn't converse with my mom at all. My mom ended up getting sick and the "caretaker" called me because she didn't want to take care of my mom. I called the office to cancel the remaining 3 days I hired them for. They took off $11.00 for the tardiness. I sent a check but got it back uncashed. I thought it was reimbursement for poor service. Eight months later I got an overdue invoice! I called and explained that I thought it was to make up for the poor service but it wasn't. Wouldn't they have billed me sooner if it was an accounting mistake? I told the woman I spoke to that I thought it was a horrible companiy and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. She couldn't care less. If you care about your loved one, don't call Companions and Homemakers!

Horrible customer service. I called asking about service for my 87 year old mother. I advised the woman I spoke with on the phone that she needs a ride to the grocery store, to the pharmacy and to the bank. Also help with preparing light meals like pasta and soups. I requested a woman over the age of 50 who could be friendly with my mother 3 times a week. A VERY large woman who was about 30 showed up at my mothers house, and she spoke broken english She said she wouldn't cook and was only there to provide rides. My mother let her in, but then asked her to leave soon after when she realized she was uncomfortable with the situation. I was still billed for this 20 minute stop, and when I called and asked why did you send that person to my moms house, the woman on the phone said "We send what is available, and do not take requests". I was floored. I asked to speak with a manager, and she said none was available. This place disgusts me.
