Founded in 1961,the UConn Health Center is also known as The University of Connecticut Health Center. It comprises of the School of Medicine, School of Dental Medicine, John Dempsey Hospital, UConn Medical Group, UConn Health Partners and University Dentists. The center provides a range of inpatient and outpatient treatments, including high-risk maternity, rehabilitative, ambulatory, and neonatal intensive and primary care services. It also offers various degree programs in medicine, dental medicine, biomedical science and research and public service fields. The center provides several clinical services, such as orthopedics, rheumatology and neurosurgery. Additionally, it operates a multi-specialty outpatient surgery center. UConn Health Center employs more than 5,000 employees and maintains one of its locations in Farmington, Conn.
