Plastic Oddities is a nationally recognized leader in developing, manufacturing and distribution of plumbing parts. Plastic Oddities was founded in 1975 when Lewis Izzi, Sr. ( 1934-2000 ) developed the first offset closet flange from his basement. Lewis Izzi presented his invention to a wholesaler in Georgia who told him if he could produce it and it worked he would sell all he could produce. After patenting the product and having a local molding company produce the first onePlastic Oddities was born. Plastic Oddities grew at a rapid pace and soon outgrew its facilities. In 1984, Lewis Izzi settled on a plant in Shelby, North Carolina to manufacture and distribute his product line. Plastic Oddities soon acquired a foundry to produce its own metal products to enhance the PVC parts it was already selling. In 2000, after the death of Lewis Izzi, Kent Covington, who was the general manager under Lewis Izzi, purchased Plastic Oddities. His vision is to continue on the legacy of producing quality, American made plumbing parts at a fair price. Since the purchase of Plastic Oddities the company has continued its goal of being known as the Friend of the Plumber".
