        When I was growing up in DC, t...

        When I was growing up in DC, there was a great red sauce Italian place called Pines of Rome with surly waiters and amazing anitpasto salad and white pizza. I was so hoping that Jimmy's Place would be my newfound Pines of Rome but it just isn't. Jimmy's Place is an acceptable, family-friendly red sauce Italian place. They do some of the classics well and some less well. Good Chicken Vesuvio. Not so good eggplant parm. If my husband and I want pizza, we often come here so my daughter can get pasta while we eat pizza, but my husband always feels that the [rices are high for what you get and we walk away not quite satisfied. The service is friendly, but invariably the waitresses get in the weeds and everything takes too long. It's clearly a family joint and most tables have kids and I like the concept. But the execution is lacking.
