Dental Examination

To help toddlers get a good start, and to comply with the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry that each child be seen by age of one. We offer complimentary 1st dental exams to children under the age of two. This is part of our infant dental care program.
X-rays
We recommend taking X-rays around the age of two or three. The first set consists of simple pictures of the front upper and lower teeth, which familiarizes your child with the process. Once the baby teeth in back are touching one another, then regular (at least yearly) X-rays are recommended. Permanent teeth start coming in around age six, and X-rays help us make sure your child’s teeth and jaw are healthy and properly aligned. If your child is at a high risk of dental problems, we may suggest having X-rays taken at an earlier age.

Teeth Cleaning
The American Dental Association recommends that children visit the dentist every six months for regular checkups and routine teeth cleanings to keep their teeth and gums healthy.
Fluoride Treatment
That’s where fluoride comes in. It’s one of the very best and easiest ways to guard against those damaging acids. Fluoride builds up key minerals to protect teeth both inside and out. At Kids Pediatric Dentistry of the Rockies, we provide regular fluoride treatments to ensure your child’s teeth are covered in the healthy minerals they need!
Dental Sealants
Sealants cover the pits and fissures in teeth that are difficult to brush and therefore susceptible to decay. We recommend sealants as a safe, simple way to help your child avoid cavities, especially for molars, which are hardest to reach.
Space Maintainers
SPACE MAINTAINERS: Sometimes kids lose teeth before their adult teeth are ready to come in. When this happens, neighboring teeth like to spread out, preventing adult teeth from growing in correctly. We’ll use space maintainers to protect your kids’ adult smile and oral health.
