The Local Police Departments are getting tougher on drunk drivers. As the enforcement gets tighter, different things occur. DUI checkpoints and officers more aggressive to make the DUI arrest. When you are stopped and investigated for a DUI it is in your best interest to contact an attorney as soon as possible. It is not mandatory that you perform these tests These exercises are not only often inaccurate due to errors in the instructions provided, they give the officer who has pulled you over the power to determine whether you are sober or not. Remain calm during the investigation and only agree to perform a breathalyzer test if you are absolutely sure you are going to pass the test (meaning you have had NOTHING to drink). There are short deadlines with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles that need to be addressed within ten days of your arrest.
