        This review was done on 8-9-2013 thru 8-11-2013...... Ok so we wanted a vacation right, But had animals (Dog) that we also wanted to bring along as well. It was also my sons 12th Birthday and we decided to incorporate them all together as one and mind you we have not had a vacation in about 8 yrs and with myself owning a radio station as well as television station it was long over due. When we left Spring Hill, Florida to go to Ft.Myers Beach we had forgot our list of hotels who had taken dogs and a few other things as well. But decided we would stop at a few on Estero Blvd and see who we could find that would take our dog. We found Gulf Motel which turned out to be the only one there that was not full or did not take animals. First off room rates were at $95.00 dollars a night in the off season ( Not Good) then $10.00 a night for the dog. (Acceptable) But then after we checked in it was a nightmare to say the least. We got placed in a moldy room with an air conditioner that did not work and woke up to temps in the high 90's INSIDE OF THE ROOM. The rooms are very outdated with MOLDY Bathrooms, lights that did not work, Showers that were peeling and moldy, Beds so out of date that even my 12 yr old could not sleep on. We arrived kind of late at about 5pm or so and figured we would go to dinner and let our room cool down some. By 10 pm nothing had happened and we could not get a hold of the mgrs that evening. Next morning we called and they had the nerve to tell us and this is a quote. " OH YEAH THAT AC DOES NOT WORK WELL" My 1st question was "Why did you place us in that room then" as we had a son and an animal and not to mention the 95 degree days outside". They said to us well we can place you in a different room if you do not mind moving, (After we were totally unpacked) So we packed up to go to a different room and low and behold it was an upgrade to a much nicer PIECE OF GARBAGE AS WELL!! Once again the lady had said AC Worked great, Low and behold it did not, We used cold towels, tried turning on ceiling fans and more and nothing helped it just remained hot inside of this new room as well. Inside of this new room the shower floor was Moldy, has peeling walls, a shower head that had to be held in order to wash your face and a toilet that kept running even after you wiggled the handle to try to shut it off.. This hotel in my opinion needs to be inspected and maybe even shut down. It needs a major overhaul to bring it to standards and needs cleaners. What hotel do you stay at that makes you clean your own rooms,, Has stinky furniture, Showers that did not drain properly, and the beds were something from 1900's .

        THIS HOTEL IS A NO NO, STAY AWAY AND DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS PLACE. TAKE IT FROM ME AND I OWN A RADIO STATION WE WILL BE GOING PUBLIC WITH THIS AS TO WARN EVERYBODY NOT TO LOOSE WHAT THEY WENT TO FT. MYERS BEACH TO GAIN..... SANITYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.
