The Department for Local Government, under the Office of the Governor governed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, provides financial and grant and loan assistance programs. The department, also known as DLG, advises local governments in matters concerning budget and personnel issues. In addition, it offers financial management solutions for various community development projects. The Department for Local Government provides administration and procurement management services for counties, cities and districts. The department also organizes conferences on local issues. It assists with the annual certification of property tax rates. The Department for Local Government offers debt reporting solutions for bonds, leases and short-term borrowing funds.
