Next Step Dance Studio

I joined this studio after the studio I loved unfortunately had to close due to money issues. After joining, none of the instructors or dancers bothered to get to know me. Not even the owner! From the first day of practice we learned our competition numbers, which were horribly choreographed may I add. For the rest of the year we ONLY worked on these routines. There was no real dancing AT ALL! Instead of learning new technique & dancing, we focused on competitions all year. It was so sad to never be able to just dance! Plus, the routines sucked and we did poorly at completions! The focus was solely on winning to make matters worse. It makes me incredibly sad that young dancers coming to this studio will focus on the competition of dance rather than the art of it. We need more studios who embrace a loving family-like atmosphere and teach girls to love dance for the art of movement, and unfortunately this studio does the opposite. I STRONGLY suggest NO ONE attends this studio!

I think Next Step does a wonderfull job, but while i read the reviews someone says that Terri yells at 6 year old competitive group... That is because she wants them to notice theyre mistakes and not just say "great job" when a compition is coming up. That is what makes them better dancers. I love the teachers. They each have a great sense of dance style in theyre heads! Keep up the great work!
