What do you think when the vet tells you that your dog will need 2 or 3 teeth extracted and when they call you to tell you that your pet is out of surgery, informs you that they took 13 teeth? After the exam the previous day, this highly educated vet said '2 but maybe 3 teeth need to come out'. No phone call or anything but a big surprise.



Did we get a chance for a 2nd opinion? Absolutely not.



The next day (New Year's Eve) her stomach was very upset so the vet sold us 4 pills to solve the problem. A few hours later (after hours) she developed a severe case of diarrhea. Little did we know, a common side effect of this medication is diarrhea. We called the office about 6 pm and the recording said they check messages regularly and would call us back. So no call back, the nausea medicine causes severe diarrhea and no vet calls back.



On Saturday, we called about noon and boy were they surprised Mia had trouble as they didn't know we called, they apparently never checked their messages.



Our pets are very dear to us and to be treated like this, like none of this was important is not the type of vet we want to do business with. To have almost 1/3 of a 7 year old pet's teeth taken without any options is unacceptable.

The clinic staff are friendly, knowledgeable and truly enjoy working with pets. We have been with Dr. K shortly after she started her practice and have seen her practice become a success. We are blessed to have a caring vet for our animals.

This is a the best vet I have ever been to. They treat the people and animals so well. YOu can tell Dr. Kivney is in the field because she loves animals. I highly recommend it!

We have been a founding patient of Dr. Kivney's since she first opened at her old office location. She is by far the greatest vet we've ever used. She's even been known to make house calls. She is caring, compassionate and honest. She doesn't try to convince you to have tests done that are not needed, she is just very realistic! She has another doctor working with her now, Dr. Mackey and we just don't like her as much as Dr. Kivney. She just seems to "talk down" to us which I find so annoying, but I am sure she is a very good doctor, I just don't care for her personality. The office staff is also wonderful. I just don't think you can go wrong by taking your furry, four-legged family members to Heritage Animal Hospital.
