General Info: The Public Work department of the Alachua County of Florida provides various services. Its animal services division offers various services that include pet adoption, euthanasia, rabies vaccinations, microchipping, and veterinary treatment for sick and injured animals. The engineering division of the department offers road and bridge repairing and construction, traffic maintenance, transportation planning and concurrency management. The Public Work department also offers fleet management services that include fleet asset management, procurement of vehicles and equipment, storage and dispensing of fleet fuels, and vehicle replacement fund management. Additionally, the department provides storm water and waste management services for residents. The public work department is located in Gainesville, Fla.
