Electrocardiogram
Implanting a Loop Recorder takes about 15 to 20 minutes and can be done under a local anaesthesia. The doctor makes a small incision (3/4 of an inch) on your chest, creating a pocket the same size and shape as the Loop Recorder device. The device is inserted in the pocket and is programmed to record your heart rate and rhythm (electrocardiogram or ECG) when you feel symptoms or during a fainting episode.

Since 2002, she has given several lectures in the community regarding the importance of increasing awareness of heart disease in women. Dr. King practices and has expertise in all facets of Cardiovascular Disease. She lives in Gainesville with her husband and son. Dr. David P. Johnson was born and grew up in Gainesville, GA. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA and completed internship and residency training at the Medical College of Georgia Hospitals, there. He then moved to Florida for a fellowship in cardiovascular disease from the University of South Florida in Tampa and later returned to his hometown to establish Gainesville Heart Group in 1994. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and is Board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Nuclear Cardiology. His professional interests include consultative cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and diagnostic cardiac catheterization. He resides in Gainesville, GA with his wife and son.
