Gettysburg Family Practice is an independent family practice. One of our physicians provides Hospitalist services at Gettsyburg Hospital (WellSpan). All of our physicians provide rotating services to Transitions Healthcare in Gettysburg.
Emergency Care
In August 1991, Dr. Wasserman joined Gettysburg Family Practice. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine. His other certifications include Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support. In addition to being full-time at Gettysburg Family Practice, Dr. Wasserman also works at the Gettysburg Hospital as an Emergency Department physician and Hospitalist.

Board Certified Family Practice Physician needed to join busy independent five physician and one physician assistant (no obstetrics) practice in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Gettysburg is a beautiful small town located in a rural setting with 1-2 hour proximity to major cities and is a great place to raise a family. Call 1:5. Inpatient care is managed by hospitalists and patients return to our care upon discharge. Rotating one day off per week. Current EMR is Allscripts and will be transitioning to Epic EMR in October 2017. In-house laboratory. Ownership potential after two years of employment. This position is to replace a physician who has retired from the practice. Long-standing practice of 25 years in the community and voted the best family practice in the area in 2013, 2014 and 2016. Looking for a qualified candidate to join our team with a start date of July, 2018

Ultrasound
Gettysburg Family Practice also offers the Achilles Heel ultrasound testing which is another screening test for osteoporosis. The Achilles measures the bone density of the heel. The heel is used because its structure provides measurements comparable to DEXA measurements of the hip and spine. Using high frequency sound waves, the Achilles measures both the speed of sound and broadband ultrasound attenuation thus analyzing the density of the bone by measuring both how fast sound travels through it, and how much of the sound reaches the other side.
