Ride Into History!
- General Info
- Get the full experience of these Battlegrounds and book your horse tour with Gettysburg's National Riding Stables. Our horses wait to meet you on the very grounds of the reserve position of the union artillery. These grounds are now the home of Artillery ridge Campground. The campground provides changing rooms and restrooms for your convenience. A pavilion is provided for you to wait in the shade while our wranglers prepare you to meet your horses. You can ride directly from these grounds held by the north, across the heart of the second and third day of the battle and onto the very soil held by General Picket and his men before they charged the open fields you will be riding upon. As you cross these open fields of Gettysburg's battlegrounds you will be in the heart of the battleground with the vantage point from which to see the ridge line forming the famous fishhook. Surrounding you and in your view will be Culp's Hill, Cemetary Ridge, Seminary Ridge, the tree line of Pitzer's woods, the triangular field and Devil's Den as well as Big and Little Round Tops. As you travel these fields and farm lanes used by the Union and Confederate army during the three deadliest days of the history of our nation, you will have several vantage points from which to see many of the most famous landmarks, monuments, and homes of Gettysburg's National Military Park. Father Corby's monument stands blessing the memory of his brave soldiers, Gettysburg's witness tree stands in witness to the greatest of battles on American soil beside the scarred Trostle barn standing on the grounds where General Sickles, from the vantage point atop his horse, was shot in the leg. The Pennsylvania Monument, the clump of trees marking what is known as the 'High Water Mark' of the battle and farms such as the Weikert and Codori farm are along this historical journey. Join us for one of the areas most memorable journeys across the grounds where this country became an indivisible nation and all men were created equal.

My daughter and I came here, and we are both first time riders. We had the best time! The staff was amazing and very helpful, plus informative. The trail was beautiful and the horses very tame. The tour was great and very interesting. My ten year old can not stop talking about her wonderful experience with Pumpkin the horse. We definitely will come back!
