I was extremely disappointed with Horse Country Farm....I took my step daughter and niece for a 1 hour trail ride. The first thing that was upsetting was the bridge that you have to cross to get to the office (shack) and the horses. For someone like myself who is afraid of bridges and heights this bridge is crazy scary and felt very unsafe. Once we made it across the bridge one of the first things I noticed was how run down the place looked. The office looked like a shack as did the barns. The fence and gates where falling apart. The owner does nothing to make the place welcoming or inviting. The girls that worked there were not very professional at all nor were they very friendly. Once we finally got our horses we were led into a coral where they proceeded to teach us how to go around in circles for a half an hour, which if they had asked we could have told them we all had experience on horses. Finally, we proceed to the so called trail. What a joke. We did a figure 8 two times out in the back field...I'm sorry but I paid for a 1 hour TRAIL ride. What a huge disappointed and a waste of money. We will not be going back there again nor will I recommend to any of my friends.

This place is an amazing place to start a foundation for horse knowledge and horseback riding. First off, they DO NOT!!! beat their horses. Discipline is needed in sometimes, but we don't beat. Our punishments would equal sending a 3 year old kid to their room and making them apologize. When you train a horse (like I am doing there) it is needed. You can learn everything you need to own a horse here. They don't sugarcoat the poop-scooping or grooming and saddling. Everything that you would need to take care of a horse if it was yours, it's called a lease, brighten up people! (sorry, no offense). YES, of course there is mud! It's in Granite Falls! If you want somewhere dry to ride, go to Arizona! You can learn to ride English, Western, Bareback, or even just ground work with a horse. The only reason my rate is 4 is because there is a river between the parking lot and the actual farm (you have to cross a perfectly safe bridge) and it gets annoying caring a bale of shavings across. But that is just me whining about a chore that is needed to be done to take care of the horses. Everybody has a pet peeve..
