Dynamic Physical Therapy

I've had physical therapy in the past and the rule of thumb has always been, "if it hurts...don't do it". Well, not here!



These people had me believing that the problem I was having this time, I should be expecting pain. These people literally had me in tears I hurt so bad. Did they think, "Maybe something else is wrong and we should contact the doctor"? NO! They told me I needed to "toughen up"! They told me to take pain pills prior to therapy!



Luckily for me, midway through my prescribed treatment I decided I could take no more and I changed therapists. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! Suddenly I'm being told again, "if it hurts, don't do it". I also got more one on one time with the therapist instead of being given a timer and clipboard with my exercises for most of the session and maybe 10 to 15 min of the most painful range of motion I've ever experienced! The new therapist LISTENED to me when I said "this hurts". The new therapist said "I THINK SOMETHING ELSE IS GOING ON HERE"



I'm home now recovering from surgery because physical therapy was NOT THE ANSWER FOR MY PROBLEM! In fact, the range of motion they were performing was most likely IRRITATING the problem!



My suggestion to them is LISTEN TO THE PATIENT!! I regret not leaving there sooner, but they seemed nice. My suggestion to all of you is IF IT HURT'S...DON'T DO IT!
