Acdm Assessment & Counseling Of Guilford County

I normally don’t write reviews, but I had to in this case. Years of addiction gave me an attitude of distrust along with an “I know all this crap!” attitude. I was resentful that I had to take classes. I was resentful about the money. I was just angry about all of it. I did it to myself, but anyone reading this likely understands exactly what I’m saying!! Years of treatment and counseling and even jail have made us experts.! Right? I NEVER thought I would actually LOOK FORWARD to what I called “my dui” classes. But I did!
Jan Boyce is truly gifted and was born to do this. While she is extremely experienced and a true expert on all of “this stuff” she still makes classes FUN! She is kind hearted and affectionate in her teachings while still an absolute professional. Would never cross a line, yet, unlike all the others I’ve met, you can FEEL her authentic sympathy, empathy, and overall—you know she cares about YOU. That is so very, very rare.
I had to take 40 hours of classes (I got into a LOT of legal trouble!) and so I hit the bullet and went. When my 20 classes were done, I didn’t want to stop going!! Jan said I could continue to attend (free of charge) and had I not gotten a full time job, I would still be going. I enjoyed it more than AA.
I’ve been sober 3 years and some change now...I want to shout to anyone out there in these shoes—you are missing out if you don’t go here. I can’t even begin to express my gratitude here!!!

After my dwi conviction, I was required to get an assessment. I came here for my assessment, and also did my 40 hours of classes here. I have nothing but great things to say about Acdm and Jan Boyce, the instructor. I learned more than I thought possible, I enjoyed coming to class, the prices were very reasonable, and I highly recommend that EVERYONE in this boat--GO SEE JAN!
