General Info: Scott E. Porter, MD, is an orthopedic oncology physician at Prisma Health in Greenville, South Carolina. After earning his bachelor's degree in biology at Morehouse College in Atlanta, he received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. He completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, a fellowship in musculoskeletal oncology at the University of Chicago, and received a master's degree in business administration from Northwestern University, also in Chicago. Dr. Porter has been involved in numerous local and national committees and organizations. He is currently a member of the South Carolina Orthopaedic Association, the national Musculoskeletal Tumor Society, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. He has also been inducted into the American Orthopaedic Association, which is the oldest orthopaedic surgery organization in the world. Porter's clinical interests include the management of cancers of the bone and soft tissue and metastatic disease that involves the bone.
