Teeth Cleaning
Our office emphasizes the importance of preventive & diagnostic treatment to ensure optimal oral health and prevent dental issues for your child. Comprehensive oral evaluations, recommended biannually, serve as a cornerstone for detecting dental problems early on. Regular dental cleanings involving the careful removal of plaque and tartar are crucial for maintaining healthy gums and preventing cavities. Advancements in digital radiography have significantly reduced radiation exposure while providing immediate, high-quality images for accurate diagnosis.
Fluoride Treatment
During this visit, we will get to know your child and help them feel comfortable in the office by explaining what will happen during the visit and showing them the tools we will use to help keep their smile healthy. At your child’s first visit, we will review your child’s medical/dental health history with you, perform a thorough head and neck examination, and evaluate your child’s teeth and gums. Digital radiographs (x-rays) are taken only if necessary. If no treatment is needed, the teeth will be cleaned and a fluoride treatment will be provided.

Braces
The Herbst appliance is used in conjunction with braces to correct an overbite. Overbite is often caused by the size and position of the lower jaw. The Herbst appliance is generally used for patients between the ages of 10 and 13 years to take advantage of the patient’s natural growth spurt, aiding in the development and positioning of the lower jaw. The appliance is attached with bands cemented to one upper and one lower molar on each side of the mouth, connecting the upper and lower jaws. Gradually, the position of the lower jaw will shift, and the next phase of orthodontic treatment can begin.

Whitening, also known as bleaching, is the procedure used to brighten teeth. In-office whitening usually requires only one office visit. A protective gel or a rubber shield is placed over the gums to protect the soft tissue. A bleaching agent containing carbamide peroxide is applied to the teeth, and a laser light is then used to enhance the action of the whitening agent.
